FAQ
Questions, answered.
Is it safe? Could it delete something I need?
Clearloft only picks things that rebuild themselves — caches, logs, build output. Anything that is yours (photos, documents, apps) is never picked for you, and goes to the Trash so you can put it back. You review every item before anything happens, and a short list of places is refused outright.
Why does it ask for Full Disk Access?
macOS hides caches, Mail downloads and the Trash from apps until you allow it. Without it Clearloft still works, but macOS asks about each folder separately. You can switch it off any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up. If you buy Pro, a license key arrives by email; you paste it into Clearloft › Settings › License.
Does it upload my files or photos?
Never. Everything, including photo matching, runs on your Mac. The only network request is checking your license key when you activate Pro.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel the yearly plan from the link in your receipt email. If Clearloft doesn’t work for you, email us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.
What about Windows and Android?
They are in the works. Email us and we’ll let you know when they launch.
